Nightmare on Georgiana - The hauntings of a summertime daycare job.

So, daycare. What an interesting place to work. Let me just tell you my story:

It was a dark and stormy night (well, not really... but it makes a good story) and all the children in the daycare had just finished their lunch. The typical after-lunch activity is nap time. Every child in the daycare rests from the worries of the day as they forget all about how Isaac pushed them or Isabelle uninvited them to her birthday party. It happens this way every day. But today was different. Today, as the kids were lying down for naps, Ava Anne sat up quietly with her head leaning to one side, "Teacher?" She asked softly.
"Yes?"
"Teacher, there's a ghost in here."

Now, none of the children seemed to mind this surprising and slightly frightening statement, but every teacher was silent as terrified glances were exchanged. Ava Anne continued, "He's tall. And old. And he has really freaky hands. And he tried to get into my sleeping bag, but now he's standing over there. Watching."

Not knowing what else to do, the teachers reluctantly continued on with nap time, telling Ava Anne to go to sleep, and the other children to as well. This kinda sucked for the teachers, having to sit alone in this creepy ghost infested room. We thought we'd be cuddling freaked out kids, but none of the kids seemed to have any trouble with the fact that Ava just said there was a ghost in the room. Which was creepy in and of itself.

Later, after all the kids had forgotten this mysterious incident at nap time, the teachers took them all outside. Now, when we play outside, we often rope off certain areas of the playground to keep all the kids in one place. At this particular time, all the kids were on the big toy. Amanda and I continued to discuss the freakyness of earlier when, out of no where, the phone in the playhouse started ringing and chattering. Now, we had all the kids at the big toy, so no one was anywhere near the playhouse. In order for the phone to ring there needs to be a button pushed. What a great time for the the playhouse phone to short out! Amanda and I freaked. "CHARLENE!! Did you just push the playhouse phone?" "Umm... No... No one's been over there for like 20 minutes!" Yeah... that conversation didn't help much.

A couple minutes later, in that same area, one swing started swinging. Just one. Same area -  no kids for over 20 minutes. REALLY?! All in the same day. Scariest day of my life. I mean really, what is scarier than a haunted house, a haunted mansion, corn maze, or a scary movie? Combined!! Yeah, a haunted daycare. Scariest thing I've ever heard of.

Story #2. Not as scary, but still... freaky.
So, on July 10, I had this dream. And I wrote it in my little dream journal. Here it goes.

"I dreamed that there was this guy who was a complete jerk to me and tried to cover it up by distracting me with a line of threats or something. Like, he had made threats but none of us in the dream knew it was him making the threats. He warned that if the "little brother" appeared, he would kill us- starting with me. Pretty soon, Miles (from daycare, Isaac's little brother) was outside walking around and we were all completely terrified. He was 'little brother.' I woke up and I easily could have been screaming. I had to read scriptures to calm down. Great, now jerk guy is literally haunting my dreams."

hahaha anyways, so that's what I wrote in my dream journal right? Now, I didn't think a whole lot of this dream because Isaac and Miles are my favorite in the daycare (And actually, I've had quite a few dreams about those two) Well, fast forward a month, and I walk in to daycare - not really paying attention to anyone in particular. I started in the baby room that day so it wasn't until half way through the day that I got to work with the preschoolers. I went outside and started playing with the kids, and Miles ran up to me to ask to go to the bathroom. Well, it took me like 2 minutes to answer him because - not even kidding - Miles (OF ALL THE KIDS!!) was wearing none other than a shirt that had only two words on it. Little Brother. WHAT?! Who even owns a shirt like that?! And seriously?! Miles?! That's just so completely random and weird.

Miles didn't kill me. And eventually, he did get to use the bathroom.

Ava Anne hasn't said anything about a ghost since. But, I have a feeling she's going to write some great plots for a scary movie someday.

Daycares are fun places to work. But it makes you wonder, doesn't it? Did I just spend the entire summer in the scariest place on Earth?! Probably.
